A Little Luxury For Me

Fun Ideas For Keeping Everyone Entertained During The Half Term

February 17, 2022 by Erica Hughes Leave a Comment

Half term is approaching, and you can practically hear the suppressed cries of parents around the world as they contemplate what they will do with their precious bundles of joy during the holiday from school. Children, as you know, grow bored quickly, and if you aren’t prepared for the half-term craziness, you may wind up being one exhausted parent. Bribery can only be used so many times, so what’s the next move? Take a look at these fantastic suggestions for staying sane this half term, and in the future!

Go to the park

The park is a universal favourite for children of all interests, regardless of their age. Pack a picnic and walk to your local park for hours of unlimited fun and the perfect opportunity to take some stunning images of your children having an amazing time? Remember to bring an ice pack with you to your picnic in order to keep it all fresh and cool for you and your children!

Or bring the park to your garden perhaps?  It’s nice to have somewhere the kids can let off steam close at hand.  Set up your own playground with a Toddler climbing frame and some swings.

Do some baking

Kids love getting involved when it comes to the kitchen. Whether it’s licking the spoon when baking a cake, or helping you bake their favourite focaccia bread recipe. Not only does baking provide a couple of hours of fun, but it helps teach your children valuable lessons in the kitchen such as kitchen safety. Also, who doesn’t love eating something they’ve just baked?

Encourage time for crafts.

Arts and crafts are another activity that all children like. Children find it impossible to resist the opportunity to get completely coated in glitter, glue, and acrylic paint from head to toe! Rather than competing against one another, why not collaborate on a project and provide everyone with lots of crafting supplies so that you can all work together and create something spectacular to display in your home? Maybe you’ll interactively make an ornament, or maybe you’ll all pitch in to paint a magnificent canvas for your wall.

Participate in their favourite activities

When someone you care about participates in a passion you love with you, it can make it even more meaningful. So why not participate in your children’s favourite hobbies as well? Perhaps your children are fans of the wildly famous Pokémon GO app? Organise long walks with your children in different areas so that they (and you) may truly catch them all! Maybe your kids like Super Mario on Wii U. Why not put them to the test and see what they’re made of? Having Mum and Dad participate makes everything more enjoyable, and you never know, you might just have a great night!

Gardening

Finally, why not make the most of your time together by getting the kids outside to do some gardening? Whether you’re planting fresh flowers or creating a new playhouse for them to play in, your children will enjoy helping you make the garden a more pleasant place to be! Remember to take before and after shots so you can see your progress!

Half term doesn’t have to be difficult with these tips!
