We love sushi and have even tried making it ourselves. It’s quite time-consuming though and you need to buy fresh ingredients, so we don’t often get round to it. Sometimes we visit a sushi restaurant, but it’s nice to be able to get a fix in at home too. So I was pleased to be able to try out Tesco’s sushi range.
Buying sushi from Tesco couldn’t be easier. You can buy the trays in the chilled aisle. We tried two trays:
- Smoked salmon, prawn, duck and chicken
- Smoked salmon, prawn, tuna, crab, surimi and mackerel
I adore smoked salmon so those rolls were real winners with me. I think of the two selections I preferred the one with more fish in it. It was great to get such a wide selection of fish at one time and that’s something we almost certainly wouldn’t have managed if we’d have been making our own. I prefer the sushi rolls with the stronger tasting fish as I like their distinctive flavours. Tesco’s selection of sushi is freshly prepared to a high standard and I’d certainly consider having them again.
I’ve never actually tried the raw fish version of sushi. I would like the smoked salmon one though I think. This looks really nice.
i’m not a fish lover at all and the thought of sushi turns my stomach!
Personally wouldn’t eat anything from those plastic trays, I know where they’re made!
